Japan Day of Hope ~origami stall and piano~
The annual tsunami memorial charity event Japan Day of Hope was held on the 11th of March, exactly after 6 years since the devastating East Japan earthquake. I have participated the event by holding the origami stall as well as by playing the piano for the Japanese songs. The total of $9201.60 was raised within the day and Smile With Kids will use this
money towards the ongoing refresh camp program for the children in Fukushima who has been forced to live in an inconvenient and anxious life due to the radiation contamination from the nuclear power plant damage since the disaster.
Okayama Daianji High School guest talk
I had a very honourable opportunity to give a guest speech about my life journey that lead me to come to Australia to work in front of the 150 Middle School students from Japan. I talked about the different ways of thoughts between Japan and Australia, and related to the decisions that I have been making throughout my life path. As a break time activity I also gave them an experience to learn origami in English. I hope that my talk was something they can recall when they are making their own choice in their life to help them broaden their perspective.
